The winemaker

From families of winemakers both paternal than maternal, Philippe and Jean-Marie Vial received the pleasure of wine and grape growing legacy. So naturally they took over the area, family-owned for several generations, which has evolved over the transmissions. The two brothers now cultivate 10 hectares of vines in Côte Roannaise (9 hectares of Gamay and 1 hectare of Chardonnay and Viogner, white varieties). Since the resumption of operations there twenty years, Philippe and Jean-Marie are constantly restructure and modernize their vineyards. In particular by the selection and combination wine islets by earth, particularly the recovery and replanting of vines on the prestigious hillside Bouthéran exposure and exceptional soil. But also by the construction in 2003 of a winery for vinification and aging of wines, and the renewal of their winemaking equipment (tank, chiller, destemmer, press, vintage up ...). The piecemeal restructuring of vineyards come to an end, no major changes are expected in the coming years, if not replanting a vineyard plot on the hillside of Bouthéran AOC Côte Roannaise, and extension the parcel planted with Viogner classified wine country d'Urfé. An expansion of the winery is also planned with the construction of a tasting room to welcome customers in more comfortable conditions yet.
