The winemaker

For over three generations, the Mérieau family has run the Bois Vaudons vineyard, which now covers more than 35 hectares. The vines are planted on hillsides on the left bank of the Cher, benefiting from a south-south-east exposure. These rich, complex terroirs give rise to a varied range of red, rosé and white wines. Jean-François Mérieau has been running the estate since 2000, and is committed to rediscovering the terroirs and wines of the Loir-et-Cher region by putting people back at the heart of the process: ploughing the soil and pruning and harvesting by hand punctuate the life of his vines.
