Scea la MartinetteEstimated delivery between 10 and Dec 12,
From the very first vintage, we've noticed that, despite being one of the most difficult grape varieties to grow, old Mourvèdre grapes produce surprising results. Soil analysis confirmed that the La Martinette terroir is particularly well suited to this grape variety. This is why, during the restructuring, the proportion of Mourvèdre in the estate's overall vineyard will increase significantly. But even today, when you taste this wine, you'll realize that even as a minority in the blend, Mourvèdre dominates Syrah. In a word, "Bandol" wine. Vinification: Traditional Burgundian vinification. Hand-picked and sorted on tables in the cellar. De-stemming and whole-berry vatting without crushing. Alcoholic fermentation in truncated-cone wood and stainless-steel vats with pumping over and punching down, followed by hot post-fermentation maceration. De-vatting after 20 to 30 days, then racking into one-wine old Burgundy barrels. Aged for 12 months in oak barrels, then blended and rested for a further 3 months in vats before bottling.
