The winemaker

Vin de Nice (AOP BELLET) is one of France's smallest appellations, only 60 hectares in total, and one of the oldest (1941). Our grape varieties are endemic: Rolle, Braquet, Folle Noire, etc., planted on restanques (planks) at altitudes of up to 260 meters. The special soil, known as poudingue, is made up of rolled sand and pebbles. Winds from the sea and the mountains sweep over the vines almost all day long. In September, we hand-pick according to the lunar cycle with a small team of pickers to select the finest bunches. Our wines are certified organic, and we work with respect for the terroir and soil, using no chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
