The excellence of Chenin on its original terroir. Bertrand-Gabriel Vigouroux decided to plant Chenin at Mercuès to express all the excellence of this grape variety on its original terroir. The vines are planted on the gravelly hilltops surrounding the château, in the communes of Caillac and Mercuès. A siliceous-clay terroir with coveted Mindel soils (ancient quaternary) ideal for growing vines. AGEING & VINIFICATION - Light cold settling. - Fermentation and aging for 9 months in 400-liter barrels (15% new wood), with stirring of the lees before blending. - The wine rests in bottle for 6 months before release.
