We are currently 3 generations: My grandfather, Yves Alexis "Snowy" 60 vintages under his belt on public land! My father, Alexis Gerard, nearly 40 vintages past to advance the field and get it into the 21st century. Myself, Alexis Vincent, 3rd vintage to my account and a willingness to continue the work of my predecessors, leaving our land speak as freely as possible. MOSAIC OF SOILS We are located in Pomport Dordogne (24) in the middle of the Monbazillac appellation south of Bergerac, only 50 kilometers east of Saint-Emilion. The estate covers 45 hectares spread over 5 parcels. 25 hectares in Monbazillac, around the area with an average density of planting 4,000 vines per hectare and the average age of the vines 50 years for an average yield of 26 hectoliters / hectare. The grape varieties of 85% Semillon and 15% Muscadelle. 9 hectares in Bergerac red on common Mescoules and Pomport, enjoying beautiful exhibitions (east-west) on clay soils tend to shallow limestone. The average planting density of 3500 plants / ha with an average yield of 50 hectoliters per hectare. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The planting was partitioned between 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot 35% and 20% Cabernet Franc. In our vineyard restructuring process and in order to bring more complexity to our wines we planted 70 acres of Malbec in 2011. Part of this red grape variety which can vary depending on the vintage is reserved for the development of Bergerac rosé. Satellite image of the plot Pecharmant to Lembras4,5 hectares Pecharmant in the municipality of Lembras north of Bergerac in one piece. We have a second winery in the middle of vineyards which allows us very fast processing of the harvest. The exhibition is south on a gentle slope, the soil is a true mosaic of rocky parts of rolled sandstone, flint, other parts argilos sand, all on a white clay base and "tran" ( ferruginous clay characteristic of earth Pecharmant). The planting density is 5000 vines / ha with an average age of vineyards 19 years and a yield of 40 hectoliters / hectare. The planting was partitioned between 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. This part is in conversion to organic farming since 2010, we are conducting very successful herbal medicine tests that allow us to reduce the doses of copper and sulfur to a strict minimum (1.6 kg of copper metal / ha in 2011 ). 3.5 hectares in Côtes de Bergerac soft in the municipality of Mescoules, situated on a dry and arid plateau, the vines averaging 40 years have naturally low yields and allow a good concentration of sugar and acidity. The planting density is 4000 vines / ha with an average yield of 50 hectoliters / hectare. The planting is close to that of monbazillac with 80% Semillon and 20% Muscadelle. 2 hectares on the soil of Monbazillac selected for a dry white wine. The planting density is 4000 vines / hectare for an average vine age of 54 years. The average yield is 50 hectoliters / hectare. The grape varieties are composed of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Muscadelle.
