In an appellation dominated over 95% by a cooperative, elian da ros produces genuine organic wines at reasonable prices. It's a daring gamble, setting up shop just a stone's throw from the great Bordeaux vineyards in the Côtes du Marmandais appellation! elian da ros, who spent his apprenticeship in alsace with zind humbrecht, returned to his native region and took over his father's vineyards, gradually increasing the estate's surface area to encompass the finest terroirs of cocumont. The Domaine Elian da Ros vineyard is planted with the main Bordeaux grape varieties: merlot, cabernet, sauvignon and cabernet franc, which bring balance and elegance, are blended with an indigenous grape called abouriou, which he likens to a southwestern gamay. Each parcel is cultivated biodynamically, harvested and vinified separately, and then blended into the various cuvées. Its first harvest dates back to 1998. The majority of the estate's vintages are certified organic.
