Halfway between Dijon and Beaune, and looking east, the Nuits-Saint-Georges vineyard stretches over 6 km and covers 160 ha of village appellation. Different soils, orientations and situations result in a great diversity of terroirs. All cut in two by the Meuzin valley and the village. "Les Charbonnières" is located in the southern part of the village, where the altitude is slightly lower than in the north. The soil is mainly composed of marl combined with sand and pebbles from the top of the hillside. Grape ripeness here is always excellent.
