Divino Mundi à ChillyEstimated delivery between 10 and Dec 12,
This evocatively named cru is the most northerly of the Beaujolais crus, since its vineyards are located almost exclusively in the Saône et Loire region. Saint amour covers an area of 310 hectares in the eponymous commune, making it one of the smallest of the Beaujolais crus. 2023 is an elegant, deep ruby-red wine. The nose is dominated by intense, complex notes of ripe fruit such as blackberry, raspberry, cherry and redcurrant, with hints of licorice and leather. The palate is balanced, carried by supple, silky tannins inherited from the clay soil of the parcels, and a structuring freshness. The finish is long and spicy. 100% Gamay. Vines 20 to 60 years old. Junction between the clay-silica zones of the Mâconnais and the granite zones of the Beaujolais. East-facing. Aged in stainless steel vats for 6 to 7 months.
