The winemaker

The estate takes its name from Alaric II. Legend has it that he buried his treasure here. Now, the treasure of Sainte Marie des Crozes is also its wine, a wine made in the traditions and respect of the ancestors who trod this land before them. The wine is made from a wide variety of grape varieties: syrah, grenache noir, carignan, mourvèdre, roussanne, grenache blanc, merlot, cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon and pinot noir. From generation to generation, the Alias family has always attached great importance to the pleasure and generosity of these wines, with organic farming as a key value. Domaine Sainte Marie des Crozes is located on the Alaric terroir, a mountain between Carcassonne and Lézignan in Douzens, Languedoc. Today, Christelle has taken over the reins of the domaine, becoming the first woman winemaker in the family.
