Châteaumeillant is the last appellation in the Val de Loire to obtain AOC status. Tasting this 2023 reveals a ruby-purple color, an open nose of very ripe red fruit, and discreet tannins on the attack that build in power, revealing themselves to be fresh and tight on a blackcurrant and spice finish. Wine and food pairing: This wine is a perfect match for charcuterie, white meats, blanquette de veau and fish. 60% gamay, 40% pinot noir. Vines 10 to 30 years old. Soils of sedimentary origin composed of a red sandy-loam complex. Aged in vats after malolactic fermentation. Aged for 5 years.

Appearance
Ruby-red in color, with youthful violet highlights and a brilliance that speaks to us of freshness.
Aroma
The nose is fine and vinous, with fruit aromas of cherry, raspberry, Mara des Bois, redcurrant and a floral note of freesia.
