The winemaker

The story begins in 1912, when Jean-Pierre Artaud and his father, who had just returned from the United States, decided to buy the estate, whose vines had been ravaged by phylloxera. Jean-Pierre, who had remained in the United States, returned to France in 1914 to defend the country. Wounded in action, he was forced to remain on French soil. His partner Pauline joined him in 1922, and from this union was born Hélène, who with her future husband Pierre Gassa, a former hairdresser, gave the vineyard the renown it enjoys today. Today, grandsons Armin and Rémy manage the estate in collaboration with two of their four children, Maîté and Yves. NB: Château Tariquet - Famille Grassa products are not sold directly by the producer.
