The winemaker

Clarendon Township was established in 1880 by European immigrants who brought with them the French vine cuttings pre-clonal origin and vineyards spread across the surrounding hills. Clarendon home to extremely varied terrain with sandy soils of clay in the lower regions and contrasting soils rich in shale rock and ferruginous iron ore in the highest areas. The vineyards of Grenache, Syrah Merlot, Mourvedre and Cabernet Sauvignon come from Clarendon Hills in the districts of Clarendon, Blewitt Springs Kangarilla. Seeking to express the imprint of a vineyard and its local stamps on varietal expression, Roman produced exclusively unique wine region. Today, there are many unique grape wines in Australia, but when Roman started in 1990, it was a virtual pioneer. In the early 90s, Roman began to become known for its Grenache, but today is its impressive collection of high quality wines spread across its portfolio of 19 wines from individual vineyards.
