The winemaker

The dream began well before the acquisition of Koomooloo (Wine website) in 1988. Philip has spent years studying and exploring many areas in Australia until Philip notices the hills of Orange area. After several days of intense research in this mountainous region, he came back the following week to find that the region had an almost perfect balance between elevation and sunlight. The adventure began when Philip bought the land for his vineyard Koomooloo in June 1988. Close to the highest peak of the region, Mt Canobolas, the Koomooloo vineyard rises to 900m above sea level with silty red on limestone soils.
