Yellowglen was founded by Ian Home, the shrewd businessman with a kind spirit, a love for champagne, a vision of innovation and a desire to create something truly Australian. In 1971, Ian has planted vines on 12 acres of the original site of Yellowglen, Smythesdale located at 18 km southwest of Ballarat, Victoria. His brand was named in honor of Yellowglen the abandoned gold mine, which was established on the property in 1858.
