In a few words ...

An exceptional wine. The site: at the southernmost point of the Beaune appellation, adjacent to Pommard. A gently sloping mid-slope parcel, facing east/south-east. 14 hectares, the largest parcel of this cru, equally divided between red and white wines. History & tradition: the name comes from the fact that this sunny vineyard was home to beehives, and the bees were once called "honey flies". It was one of the very first vineyards acquired by Maurice Drouhin (the founder's son) in the 1920s. With great determination, he managed to buy 41 different plots from 8 different owners. Clos des Mouches is planted with red and white grapes in equal proportions, making it one of the House's legendary wines.

Tasting notes

Appearance

The color is a brilliant pale yellow.

Aroma

The floral nose is complex: white lilac, white rose. Once open, fruity aromas emerge, evolving towards intense notes of hazelnut and toasted almond.

Wine Floral | Smooth | Spicy

Taste

Lively on the palate. You can sense the richness, but also the structure and a certain minerality. The wine is full-bodied but never heavy, with a lovely fullness on the finish.

Wine Gras | Vif
