Bin 311 Chardonnay comes from a single region with a cool climate. Each year, the selection of fruit reflects the Bin 311 style. In 2014, fruit supplies also came from Tumbarumba, one of Australia's most exciting wine-growing regions in terms of cool climate and high altitude. Penfolds has been working with Tumbarumba Chardonnays since 1990. The warm winter and spring resulted in early bud break throughout the region. These risks were carefully managed throughout the flowering period by Penfolds - and throughout the region, which was on high alert. The vines proved quite resilient, and frost impacts were minimal with only a small reduction in yields. A warm, dry January followed, bringing a balance in crop ripening with little or no risk of disease. Early autumn turned out to be cool and wet, causing an impact on the harvest in many neighboring regions - fortunately the Bin 311 Chardonnay was harvested before this period.

A very light straw-yellow color.
Aroma
Great aromatic complexity. Notes of cookie, brioche mixed with toasted walnut, hazelnut and macadamia.
Wine Gourmand | Roasted
Taste
Flavors of the sea with honey and guava. At the same time, this wine is discreetly elegant, with hints of lemon and citrus. A well-balanced chalky acid structure crowns the finish.
