Chateau de Vaurenard covers 25 hectares planted with Gamay grapes. The regional Beaujolais appellation produces red wines from whole-grain Gamay grapes, according to the principles of Beaujolais vinification, which brings out floral and fruity aromas. The 1994 vintage would have been a great year had it not been for the September rains, which prevented full ripening. The reds are well-structured, more tannic than the 1993s, but sometimes a little dry.
