Haut Médoc is located upstream from the Gironde estuary. The gravelly composition of the soil encourages the cultivation of Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are concentrated and tannic, requiring at least 6 months of ageing. In its youth, the nose offers aromas of red and black fruits, evolving towards spices and vanilla to a greater or lesser extent with ageing. The 1979 vintage produced a fine harvest, both in terms of quality and quantity. The wines are harmonious, balanced and fruity. With good ageing potential, the great wines are magnificent today. Long underestimated, this vintage remains excellent value for money.
