    In a few words ...

Owned by the Bouygues family since 2006, this 2nd Cru Classé is one of Saint-Estèphe's most prestigious estates, sought after for its unfailing consistency. Montrose produces a wine of great class, racy in its aromatic expression, with a tight, silky tannic structure. It retains a magnificent freshness even in very hot vintages, which partly explains its impressive ageing potential. J. Suckling : 97-98/100

Dense, dark garnet color, drawing on purple in its youth.

    Aroma

The bouquet reveals notes of cassis, violet, mocha, vanilla, spices and licorice.

    Taste

The wines of Saint-Estèphe have strong tannins and thus reach their maturity more slowly than most other medals. They offer black fruits, a note of freshness, often a woody or smoky aspect and a floral touch.
