In a few words ...

Châteauneuf du Pape is one of the best-known wines in the Rhone Valley. It takes its name from a summer residence of the popes of Avignon, and its brilliance from an exceptional natural environment strewn with large rounded pebbles. The landscape is composed of terraces and slopes. Warmed by the Mediterranean sun, the pebbles store heat during the day and release it at night. The majority grape variety is Grenache noir and blanc, producing full-bodied, robust wines with a powerful, complex bouquet.
The 1997 vintage was average. The climate was tropical in late summer and early autumn, with high humidity and heat. The 1997 harvest was probably the longest in living memory. On the whole, the reds have a well-balanced structure and remarkable fruit, enabling them to age well.

An excellent white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, very fruity, with roundness and a mineral finish. Perfect with fish
