The velvety, complex, full-bodied character of Chiesa Nera is due to a 45-day maceration. But despite its density, it's never heavy, as it possesses an obvious dynamic that gives the impression of fruity sweetness dancing over fine-grained tannins. Wild herbs like rosemary, thyme and immortelle come to the fore, as do the gallery of spices and delicate toasted notes, before even a fresh touch of minerality and salt appears on the long finish.
