Domaine joseph chamonard - fleurie 2018the domaine joseph chamonard is a small estate in the heart of the beaujolais region, run by geneviève and jean-claude chanudet (known as "le chat"). The domaine has been established in the Morgon and Fleurie appellations since the 18th century, and the vines are between 60 and 90 years old. The terroir is composed of pink granite, composite rock and crumbly schist, with southern exposure. The morgon parcels (les chênes, corcelette, les grands cras and le colombier) are located in the commune of villié-morgon. Domaine Chamonard also cultivates half a hectare of vines on the most beautiful hill in Fleurie, at an altitude of 400 m. The vines are grown organically, with respect for the environment: chemical-free, hand-picked, with light ploughing of the soil. In the winery, only indigenous yeasts are used during fermentation, and human intervention is minimal, in the same vein as for vins natures.fleurie comes from a half-hectare of gamay vines planted in the madone area, which takes its name from the statue of the Virgin Mary at the top of the chapel overlooking the fleurie hill at an altitude of 400 metres. Vinification takes place in whole bunches to obtain carbonic maceration in bunched vats. Fermentation begins with natural yeasts, followed by a light addition of sulfites. Fermentation lasts 10 to 12 months in foudres with several passages. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration. The viticulture for this cuvée is uncertified biodynamic.cépage : 100% gamay
