The winemaker

The presence of vine is much older with a wine business that dates back to the Roman conquest so two millennia. The ancestor of Cabernet Sauvignon, vitis biturica, was then used by Roman settlers. Today, the field is a property of Bernard Magrez who has more than 30 in Bordeaux, Provence and Languedoc, besides abroad. A Guerry, vineyards cover a twenty hectares of land suitable for a merlot, cabernet franc and the Sauvignon and Malbec. These four varieties occupy a sloping land, well exposed to the sun, clay and limestone soils. In such a vineyard, the grapes acquire outstanding maturities for winemaking combining tradition and modernity, including the stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Note the black label of the first wine of the castle, atypical in Bordeaux.
