The winemaker

Acquired in 1894 by Edouard Eiffel, son of the famous architect of the Eiffel Tower, this vineyard is one of the finest properties in the Bordeaux Supérieur appellation. The plot Lafite dating from 1812 gave its name to Chateau Lafite Monteil. The exceptional quality of its soil gives this wine its unique character. Gustave Eiffel had established the plans for the cellar of about 1100 square meters. The tanks are stainless steel and equipment is the most modern standards, including a new thermal regulation system.
