The winemaker

In 1858, our family settled at Château des Combes in Ladaux, a small rural village south-east of Bordeaux. With the passing of time, generation after generation, the passion for wine became a profession, the know-how was passed on and the vineyard was gradually enriched. Today, the Ducourt family constitutes one of the largest independent winegrowing units in the region: 440ha of vineyards spread over 13 Châteaux in both the Entre Deux Mers and Saint Emilion regions. Each generation has preserved the philosophy dictated by our elders: to get the best out of each terroir by combining the good sense of yesteryear with today's techniques, in order to produce wines that are pleasurable, authentic and affordable, but also respectful of the environment and our customers' expectations.
