In 1980, at the age of 19, vincent girardin, who came from a family of winegrowers in santenay dating back to the 17th century, decided to make his own way and started out with the two hectares of vines inherited from his parents. Very quickly, the quality of his wines gained worldwide recognition, enabling him to expand his business, concentrating mainly on the great whites and reds of the côte de beaune (meursault, puligny montrachet, chassagne montrachet, saint aubin, santenay, savigny les beaune, aloxe corton, volnay and pommard). in 2012, vincent girardin has decided to expand his business with a long-standing partner of the company: mr niacute; president of the compagnie des vins d'autrefois à beaune.chassagne-montrachet premier cru la maltroie comes from pinot noir vines around 45 years old, located in the regional appellation area of the commune of chassagne-montrachet just outside the premier cru les champs gain appellation. After light crushing and de-stemming, the grapes are placed in stainless steel vats. A few days of cold maceration precede fermentation, during which the cap is punched down and the grapes are pumped over. Fermentation lasts 14 months in barrels, 30% of which are new. A month before bottling, the wine from the different barrels is blended in vats. Bottling follows the lunar calendar.cépage : 100% pinot noir
