Founded in 1864 in saumur, gratien & meyer is the fruit of a unique and historic encounter between loire heritage and champagne know-how. This encounter was made possible by the association of two emblematic figures in the wine world: alfred gratien and jean-albert meyer. Together, they created the caves gratien & meyer in former tuffeau galleries, where they put their respective expertise and commitment at the service of wine. It's in this unique setting, where the vines meet the highest tuffeau cellars in Saumur, with a breathtaking view over the Valley of the Kings, that all the cuvées are produced according to values and know-how handed down from generation to generation for over 150 years. In this "temple of saumur", modern techniques are used only to better serve tradition. From bottling to cellar ageing and packaging, every stage of production is carried out on site by a team of men and women who are passionate about a job well done. More than just a great saumur house, gratien & meyer is also a creator of emotions and convivial moments.
