In a few words ...
Simon Batardière operates a small, traditional winegrowing estate of just 2 hectares. Hundred-year-old vines are planted alongside younger vines. The soil is ploughed and vinification is as natural as possible, with no added sulfites. Maturation takes place in vats or barrels, depending on the cuvée. Simon's aim is to produce wines with ageing potential. The cuvée au rocher des quarts from domaine simon batardière is made from chenin vines planted on two small 2-hectare plots. The nose reveals delicious notes of citrus, white flowers, pears and wet pebbles. The palate is both dynamic and round, thanks to a fine balance between minerality and juicy fruit. The finish is long and saline.
