The winemaker

Domaine de Lucéna is a family-run vineyard located in the Enclave des Papes region of France. The vineyard has been owned by the Michel family for over 100 years, who are passionate about producing high-quality wines. The vineyard is located on the southern slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail, offering perfect conditions for growing grapes. The soil is rich in limestone and clay, giving the wines their distinctive flavor. The vineyards produce a variety of wines, including reds, whites and rosés. Red wines are made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre grapes, while white wines are made from Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier. Rosé wines are made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. Domaine de Lucéna wines are renowned for their elegance, balance and complexity. They have won numerous awards and are appreciated by wine lovers the world over.

History

Domaine de Lucéna was founded in 1920 by Jean Michel. Jean was a passionate winemaker, and dedicated his life to producing high-quality wines. He was also a pioneer in the use of sustainable farming practices. Jean's son Michel took over the vineyard in 1970. Michel carried on his father's legacy and continued to develop sustainable farming practices. He also expanded the vineyard and planted new grape varieties. Michel's son Philippe is the current owner of the Domaine de Lucéna vineyard. Philippe is committed to continuing the family tradition of producing high-quality wines. He is also committed to sustainable agricultural practices.

The winemaking

. Domaine de Lucéna wines are made using traditional methods. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in small oak barrels. The wines are aged for at least 12 months and bottled without fining or filtration. This allows the wines to express their true character.

Tasting notes

Domaine de Lucéna red wines are full-bodied and complex. They present aromas of red fruits, spices and leather. The white wines are dry and refreshing. They present aromas of citrus, flowers and honey. Rosé wines are light and fruity. They have aromas of red fruits, berries and flowers.
