The winemaker

Cesare Bussolo was born and lived in the heart of La Morra, a village in the Barolo appellation. His childhood was marked by the culture of wine and vine. Graduated in 1998 from the Wine School of Alba, he began working in the large field of Bovio La Morra. Since 2007, he worked in field Voerzio, occurs both in the vineyard in winemaking and became a faithful and indispensable collaborator Roberto Voerzio.   In 2009, true to his roots, he bought an old vineyard of about 90 years, in an area called Santa Lucia, very well adapted to the Barbera grape culture in the city of La Morra, to him considered the best land in the world.   In 2010, the vineyard was replanted snatch and with a very high density of 8,000 plants per hectare. This has reduced to just over 1 kg yield of grapes per plant.   The vineyard is cultivated in organic farming without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides to give the possibility to the soil to give their best.   In the basement, he works in a natural perspective. Hand picked at perfect ripeness, incredibly healthy, grapes ferment for 15- to 30-day grace only indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine then undergoes no alteration, also performs malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks. It is then racked into oak barrels (20% new maximum). After 12 months of aging, it is bottled in late August, without fining or filtration.
