The winemaker

Fattoria delle Ripalte was built in 1896 by Count Tobler, a Swiss aristocrat, fell in love with Italy and its wines. The area then extends over 420 hectares, and is one of the largest in Elba. The vineyard is however abandoned by subsequent owners that turn it into a hunting ground. The estate offers a revival in 2002 and develops on 12 hectares a healthy and fulfilling vine. More than half of the production comes from Aleatico.
