Alicante is a parcel-by-parcel selection of Grenache from a vineyard (called Vigna della Pieve) at an altitude of 250 meters on sandy and pebbly soil: a wine with supple, crisp fruit, a real treat. This wine is the first in the series of monovarietal wines, a project that at Ampeleia develops the unvarnished expression of the grape varieties that flourish in this still wild nature. 2013 is the first vintage of Alicante. A punchy, unexpected wine, an expression of Grenache the likes of which we'd like to see more often.
