In a few words ...
Delicate and delicious, this wine was already being sold in the 16th century. It was appreciated at the tables of the kings of France. In the 17th century, the Jesuits of Tournon gave it its present name. Between 1956 and 1969, all the vineyards in this part of the Côtes du Rhône were grouped together and named Saint-Joseph.

Saint-Joseph
The appellation Saint-Joseph is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Maison Delas and its 48 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
