The winemaker

Wine of Greece. Located in a beautiful setting between ancient architecture and Aegean coast, the Monastery of Hilandary vinifies on Mount Athos since 1198. The monastery cultivates 68ha of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The unique terroir of Mount with its cold nights and warm sunny days allows the grapes optimum ripeness. Fields of St. Savvas are exclusively produced on Mount Athos in the cellar of the monastery of Chilandari. This wine is a unique quality wine continues the tradition.  The largest vineyard Agios Savvas enjoys an excellent location on the seafront and on the outskirts of Mount Athos and has an area of ​​170 hectares where Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon are mainly cultivated. Next to the vineyards of Saint Savvas Field, a modern winery was installed in buildings located Arsana (wearing the monastery) dating from the 18th century.
