Established since the XVth century, the Bouzereau de Meursault family are all cousins. Vincent is the son of pierre, the brother of jean-marie, the nephew of michel and the little cousin of hubert and philippe, all winegrowers. the domaine was created in 1990 and comprises 11 hectares of vines, 6 of chardonnay, 4 of pinot noir and 1 of aligoté. The majority of parcels are in the commune of meursault, but the domaine also owns vines in puligny, monthélie, auxey-duresses, volnay, pommard, beaune and on the corton mountain. What sets this domaine apart is the interest the winemaker takes in the vines, since his father, Pierre, has always reproduced his vines using massal selection, and the current vines are the result of pre-phylloxera selection. Vincent selects the vines he feels are healthy and of the highest quality, and keeps his prunings to reproduce them on selected rootstocks. This practice results in greater biodiversity than clonal selection. Cultivation techniques are similar to those used by winegrowers who claim to produce "terroir" wines.
