The winemaker

Heritage Porto & Douro was created by Julien dos Santos as a tribute to his grandfather, a winemaker in the Douro region, after inheriting his land. Established in 2011, Heritage Porto & Douro is a family-run business producing Port, Douro wines and olive oil, as well as other products from the Upper Douro and Trás-os-Montes regions. Heritage Porto & Douro welcomes visitors to the estate with tastings and guided tours of the vineyard and olive grove, with the aim of showcasing the beauty of the region and, at the same time, boosting the international profile of its products. The vineyard, established in 1931, is located in Seixo de Ansiaes on the banks of the Douro River. A landscape and terroir that strongly mark the identity of the estate's wines. "The wines we produce reflect who we are. Our ambition is to offer wines of excellence that respect the authenticity of the Douro terroir and its traditional production techniques such as hand harvesting and crushing. Our aim is to promote and honor this history, while remaining faithful to this heritage, to the quality of the region's wines and virtuous towards the environment." Julien dos Santos.
