The winemaker
La Quinta got from 1761 the status of "feitoria", the highest award at the time for a vineyard in the region. This prestigious award demonstrates the continuity of quality wines. t the beginning of the twentieth century, Quinta do Crasto was purchased by Constantino de Almeida, founder of the prestigious ports of Constantino. After his death in 1923, his son Fernando de Almeida regained domain to produce prestigious ports. In 1981, the daughter of Fernando, Leonor Roquette and her husband Jorge began to lead the Quinta. They rénovèrent widened the field and vineyards and farms to develop port and Douro wines of high standing. Today, Quinta do Crasto is part of the great family estates of the Douro.
