Jeff Carrel "as surprising as delightful"
Languedoc
The star of the most unusual and inexpensive Languedoc wines
In 1991, Jean-François Carrel, nicknamed Jeff, decided to change his life. He trained and became an oenologist in 1994. Accompanied by Sébastien Calduch, he travelled all over France and it was in Ansignan, in the Roussillon region, that the two friends decided to take over some vineyards.
In just a few years, Jeff Carrel, described as an "eclectic winemaker", has made his mark with wines that are "as surprising as they are pleasing" (Bettane & Desseauve). His original brands have made a name for themselves, such as "Les Darons" and "La Vieille Mule". He attaches great importance to respecting the environment in each of his wines, whether they come from his wine estate or from his local partner winegrowers.
