The winemaker
Bodegas Fernando Castro's history dates back to 1850, when on his property in Santa Cruz de Mudela (Ciudad Real - Spain), the Castro family has developed red and white wines with grapes from their vines. These wines were produced with traditional methods in the region. But it was not until some years later, when Juan Manuel Castro Corridor began selling wines. The construction of the railway in 1861, is an important step. In 1895, the wines of Bodegas Fernando Castro has crossed new borders, began at the Madrid market, became famous through the "Wine Train". A few years later, the wines started being exported to the Philippines, Cuba and Central America, through the port of Cadiz. The effort and good work has been the engine of the family, which Bodegas Fernando Castro in one of the main representatives of the Appellation of Origin Valdepeñas.
