Color: brilliant dark red with purple highlights Smell: complex, classic lodi-zinfandel aromatic bouquet with ripe wild cherries, blackberries, currants, dark chocolate and peppery spices Mouth: pleasantly fruity, with a pleasant taste : immediately beautifully approachable, sweet and full-bodied with velvety, ripe tannins and lots of juicy varietal fruit the grapes for mondavis woodbridge zinfandel are first fully destemmed, then gently crushed and fermented on the must at controlled temperatures of around 30°c in stainless steel tanks. If the maceration time is extended, part of the wine can extract even more aromatic richness and soft tannins from the berry skins. The entire wine is then pressed to preserve its concentrated fruity aromas. Malolactic fermentation rounds it out with suppleness and magnificent balance, while aging in French and American oak finishes it off with delicate notes of vanilla, toast and sweet spices.
