DOMAIN ORIGINAL It was founded by the family of aristocrats owner of Taittinger champagne. In the late 1970s, Claude Taittinger began looking for an interesting area in the United States. In 1987, he set his sights on a plot of 55 hectares in the heart of Carneros, Napa Valley. By choosing particular Eileen Crane in the field of development of head and vineyards, it was a team that was able to recreate the spirit of French Champagne to California. A HOT SPOT IN THE REGION Since its inception, the Domaine Carneros went beyond the principles of sustainable development, seeking to minimize its impact on soils while producing excellent grapes and wines. Domaine Carneros operates five ranches in the region of Carneros AVA, all located within 6.5 km of the Castle. Our vineyards now extend over 140 hectares, of which about 90 are devoted to Pinot Black and 50 Chardonnay.
