Pale yellow color. On the palate, a tantalizing perfume of tropical fruit and floral aromas of jasmine and rose, a refreshing attack with lots of fruit and lively acidity, an aromatic and charming finish. David and salvador michel founded bodega la rosa in 1892 in the calchaqui valley, near the town of cafayate, in the province of salta, northeastern argentina. The marriage of david michel to gabriela torino, of Italian origin, gave the estate its name at the time, michel torino. They planted the first vineyards on fertile land in the foothills of the Andes, at an altitude of between 1,600 and 2,000 metres above sea level. The excellent terroir and unique microclimate seemed perfectly suited to quality viticulture. The valley's vineyards, with their fine sandy soils on a stony to rocky subsoil, are among the highest vineyards in the world. The 350 days of sunshine and temperature variations of 40° during the day and 12° at night are particularly favorable conditions for perfect grape ripening. The grapes present an ideal balance between high sugar levels and good acidity values. The result is captivating white wines with a fresh, fruity character, and deep, juicy red wines. Since 1990, the current 720 hectares have been cultivated according to ecological criteria. The modern winery works with the latest technologies while cultivating classic winemaking traditions with its vast barrel cellar.
