The winemaker

Burgenland is Austria's second-largest wine-growing region. The region itself is divided into four wine-growing areas: Mittelburgenland, Südburgenland, Neusiedler See and Neusiedler See-Hügelland, including the Leithaberg vineyard. The wine routes that run through these regions cover some 14,000 hectares of vineyards. The area enjoys ideal conditions for vine-growing, thanks in particular to the favorable soil and warm climate typical of the Pannonian plain. Added to this is Lake Neusiedl, which acts as a heat recuperator and air humidity regulator. Leithaberg: Slate is a metamorphic rock formed under conditions of high pressure and temperature. It belongs to the schist family, distinguished by its fine grain and fissility.
