leclerc briant was founded in 1872 by lucien leclerc in cumières, before the estate moved to epernay in 1955. The 2012 buyout of leclerc briant by mark nunnely and denise dupré gave it new impetus, and today the estate boasts 10 hectares of vines and a partnership with a handful of winemakers to supplement its grape supply, representing an additional 10 hectares in grape quantity. Leclerc Briant's vines are mainly located in the Grand Cru and Premier Cru regions, and are vinified organically, as are the grapes purchased, some from growers based in the Côte des Blancs terroirs. The brut réserve cuvée is made with 40% pinot noir, 40% pinot meunier and 20% chardonnay. It has the particularity of being extra brut, with a dosage of 4gr/l, and of being aged for more than nine months, before a long period of cellar ageing. This champagne combines purity, finesse and depth, with a lively, fine, expressive bubble. The finish is saline and savory. A perfect accompaniment to land and sea dishes.
