The winemaker

It's a former research institute founded in 1949 in south-western Bulgaria. In 2003, when it was privatized, three agronomists (Ivan GIZDAVKOV, Petar PETROV and Sotir BATEV) bought the institute, which became Sintica Winery. The estate is located in the Struma Valley, Bulgaria's sunniest region in the south-west of the country. Sintica Winery is a modern combination of tradition and innovation. The estate's 130 hectares are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah and Petit Verdot. The grapes are carefully selected to ensure the highest possible quality.
