Bordeaux appellation wines are traditionally blended and distributed according to the winemaker's decision and the terroir. Bordeaux appellation wines are light-bodied, fruity and easy to drink. They must meet strict specifications in order to obtain the appellation.
The 1999 vintage was looking good overall, with quality and quantity. But once again, a violent storm on September 5 wiped out 10% of St Emilion. The situation in the other appellations was no better, but the winemakers were able to save the ripe grapes thanks to the September sunshine. The winemaker's hard work will be recognized by the wine's structure.
