Before the 2nd World War, Château Coustaut La Grangeotte was known as one of Bordeaux's finest growths. This quality was rewarded with a gold medal at the international exhibition in Antwerp in 1930. Since then, three generations have worked the land. Nestled in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards, Château Coustaut la Grangeotte watches time go by in the shade of its century-old lime trees, lulled by the gentle lapping of the river Oeuille. Before World War II, Château Coustaut la Grangeotte was known as one of Bordeaux's finest growths. This quality was rewarded with a gold medal at the international exhibition in Antwerp in 1930. Since then, three generations have worked the land. The first two, from 1945 to 2000, mainly enlarged the estate through the acquisition of neighboring vineyards and tenant farming. They modernized and worked to remain in the elite group of the Bordeaux market. Since 2000, the Coustaut family has been managing its vineyards using sustainable agriculture in partnership with Yvon Mau (respect for the environment, traceability, specifications, etc.). Château Coustaut wines are matured with passion and know-how to produce a top-quality, award-winning product. Today, the vineyard covers a total area of 58 hectares, including 31 hectares of reds. The grape varieties grown are Merlot Noir (14 ha), Cabernet Sauvignon (9 ha) and Cabernet Franc (8 ha). Grapes are cold-stored for 48 hours. Temperature-controlled fermentation.
