Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Thibault Liger-Belair Red wine ● Clos-de-Vougeot
2013 75cldomaine thibault liger-belair is located in nuits-saint-georges. Its origins lie in the creation of the etablissements c. Marey in 1720. the trading house c. Marey joined forces with count louis liger-belair in 1852. After the death of félix marey in 1869, the liber-belair family took sole control of the company. In 1982, the trading house was sold by xavier liger-belair, who died in the process. His son vincent bought the buildings and set about creating a truly Burgundian wine estate. In 2001, the estate (whose vines are sharecropped) was taken over by his son thibault, who after studying oenology had worked for ficofi, a company founded by philippe capdouze. Thibault Liger-Belair has become a key figure in the Burgundy wine world, having successfully taken over the family domaine in 2001. The vines are grown organically and yields are controlled. While he explores several avenues in terms of vinification, the winemaker alternates substance and finesse depending on the cuvée, and works hard to select the wood in partnership with his two coopers, limiting himself to a maximum of 50% new barrels.
