the aoc cotes du jura is the largest of the Jura appellations. It includes the arbois, château chalon, l'etoile and arbois pupillin appellations. The grape varieties used are savagnin, chardonnay, trousseau, poulsard and pinot noir.
the 1994 vintage would have been a great year were it not for the September rains that prevented full ripening. The reds are well-structured, more tannic than the 1993s, but sometimes a little dry. The earlier Merlot ripened better than the Cabernet Sauvignon, so the Right Bank is at an advantage
